Steam 2 Water Distiller can easily generate distilled water at a rate of (1oz) every minute. At this rate, it is estimated that 1 U.s. gallon of distilled water will be produced in 2 hours. However, actual production rates may vary according to certain factors such as the particular type and dimensions of the pressure cooker utilized as well as the temperatures generated by the heat source when boiling the water.
You can’t use copper, which is cheaper, easier to work with, and easier to find, because distilled water leaches copper – a lot of copper. We selected 316L stainless steel because it has a higher creep resistance, rupture and tensile strength at high temperatures, corrosion and pitting resistance, and exceptional resistance in acidic and hard water areas. Surgical, medical tools, and surgical implants are made with 316l stainless steel.
A pot, pan or tea kettle may serve as a boiling chamber and a food grade funnel will be placed in an inverted position on top of the chamber to redirect the vapor into the condensing coil.

Alternative types of boiling chambers may be used, depending on the quantity of distilled water desired.

A large boiling pot or barrel may be utilized as the boiling chamber and is ideal for communal living environments. As long as the large boiling pot or barrel has a tight, slightly dome-shaped lid, it will effectively direct the steam vapor through the discharge tube into the condensing coil that is in a large container of water, thereby cooling the steam.

After successfully using your Steam2Water Distiller, leave it to cool for at least 30 minutes. This will allow the heat to dissipate and prevent you from possible heat-related injuries as well. Clean and dry all the components including the pressure cooker, vinyl tube, condensing coil and activated carbon post-filter. When dry, detach the stainless steel clamps and the vinyl tubes from the pressure cooker and condensing coil. Re-attach the protective plastic caps over the open ends of the condensing coil to keep the coil free from dirt, residue and other possible contaminants. Store the Steam2Water Distiller in an accessible location, ready for its next use.

Before re-using the Steam 2 Water Distiller, remember to follow the self-sterilization procedure first for 10-15 minutes to ensure the purity and sterility of distilled water that will be produced.

Typically used to polish the taste of reverse osmosis water. Also used for icemakers, refrigerators, drinking fountains and coolers. Removes Chlorine, Bad Taste & Odor, Turbidity, THMs, Dirt and Sediment.
The post-filter must be replaced after it produces 1500 gallons of distilled water. The post-filter must also be replaced if it was stored without its two openings at the end of the filter having been protected from the entry of airborne bacteria and other contaminants. Replacement due to this occurrence can easily be prevented by simply placing the dry filter in a sealed plastic bag after use to protect it from airborne bacteria and other contaminants.
The only reliable way to remove chemicals in our water supply is through distillation. Distillation is a very straightforward concept: You boil off the water, and all the undesirable “extras” are left behind. To do the job correctly, however, there is an extra step.

The extra step has to do with removing the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that boil off before the water. (More properly, the compounds have what’s called a lower vapor pressure than water. The effect is the same—they evaporate before the water does.)

We use a Kemflo Activated Post Carbon Filter to removes VOCs. This carbon filter also removes Benzene, Bromoform, Chlorine, Herbicides, Pesticides, Radon, and THMs.

It’s true that distilled water is acidic, whether it comes from a store-bought jug or a distiller at home. The acidity occurs because carbon dioxide from the atmosphere dissolves in the water, creating a very dilute solution of carbonic acid. Distilled water in a container that’s been sitting open for a while could have a pH in the range of 6. (For comparison, vinegar has a pH of about 4, or 100 times as acidic.) Your body responds to this trivial amount of acidity by producing more stomach acid. So long as your digestive system is in good shape, and you’re not taking any medication to block the production of stomach acid, then the amount of acidity from distilled water won’t affect any body processes.
This assertion is made because distilled water doesn’t have any minerals of its own. However, most of the minerals we take in come from food, not water. And the fact is that your kidneys do a fine job of keeping your minerals in proper balance. As long as your kidneys are functioning normally, you’ll have no problems drinking distilled water.
